Simply complete the following six steps:
- Apply for Admission
The first step in becoming a student at NHCC is to complete an application and return it to the Admissions Office, along with the $20 application fee.
- Apply for Financial Aid
NHCC students receive approximately $30 million of financial aid each year to help pay for tuition, fees, and books through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process.
- Take Placement Test(s)
Placement tests are required to determine college readiness in reading, writing, and mathematics. The test results will determine which initial courses students may enroll in.
- Complete Orientation
All new students are required to participate in orientation, which is designed to better acquaint them with college and make them aware of the many available resources to help them succeed. Academic advisors will be on hand to assist with degree and program information, credit transfer procedures, and the class registration process.
- Register for Classes
After taking the placement tests and participating in orientation, students can register for classes through their new eServices account and using their assigned student identification number and password.
- Pay Tuition and Buy Books
If financial aid is not being used and/or does not fully cover tuition or fees, then students may pay with cash, check, credit card, or a payment plan. Students can also charge their books against their financial aid, payment plan, or veteran benefits if applicable.
